A Message from Our Founder
Hi, I'm James Gillmon.
In 2015, I founded TEFL Fullcircle with a simple belief.
Teaching English can change your life.
Not just because it gives you a job, but because of everything it allows you to do when you're not teaching.
Over the past twenty years, teaching has taken me on an incredible journey.
I've lived and worked in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and Qatar, meeting people from every corner of the world and experiencing cultures that have shaped both my career and my life.
I've watched the sun rise over tropical beaches in Thailand, explored the mountains of Vietnam, scuba dived in crystal-clear waters, skied in Asia, wandered through ancient temples in Cambodia, experienced the energy of Tokyo, and discovered places I never imagined I'd visit.
But the greatest gift teaching gave me wasn't travel.
It was my family.
I met my wife in Thailand, and together we've built a life filled with adventure, raising our two children with experiences that neither of us could ever have imagined when I first started teaching.
That's why I started TEFL Fullcircle.
Not because I wanted to build another online course company.
Because I wanted other people to discover the same opportunities that teaching gave me.
I didn't begin with investors, a large team or a marketing budget.
I started with a laptop, a belief in education and a determination to help people create lives they were proud of.
Over the last ten years, TEFL Fullcircle has grown from a one-person business into a global learning community that has supported more than 70,000 learners from over 150 countries.
Every course has been written, refined and improved with one goal in mind:
To help people become confident, capable English teachers—and to open doors to opportunities around the world.
Today, we're beginning an exciting new chapter.
By joining forces with Converzum and becoming part of the International House Budapest family, we're combining the agility and innovation of an independent business with decades of internationally recognised teacher training expertise.
While our ambitions have grown, our values haven't changed.
We believe great education should be accessible, honest and genuinely useful.
We believe becoming a great teacher is a journey, not a single qualification.
And we believe the best stories begin after you've finished your course.
That's why we're building more than TEFL qualifications.
We're building a professional pathway—from your first steps into teaching, through recognised qualifications, ongoing professional development and AI-powered learning tools that support teachers throughout their careers.
As our community grows, so does our responsibility. Our aim is to donate £5 from every eligible enrolment to projects that improve access to education around the world, helping more people discover the same opportunities that changed my life.
If you're considering a career teaching English, I'd love you to join our community.
Because the best part isn't just becoming a teacher.
It's all the things you can do when you're not teaching.
